Other Services
Our experience in the rail industry means that, if you are thinking of on-board systems and could do with a steer, we're the right people to help.
For a start, why not take a copy of our brief output specification for electronic on-board counting systems.
First read our terms and conditions, then help yourself to a copy.
In addition to our excellence in the passenger counting area, we, together with Tracsis Passenger Counts (formerly Peeping Ltd), are able to undertake many other measurement activities.
By producing and processing all documentation and providing skilled and motivated staff to do the counting, we, together with Tracsis Passenger Counts, can undertake the complete manual count activity on your behalf.
On Train
Whether for use by your staff or contractors, we can provide all the documentation and process the results. The survey forms can be standardised for each route, with the inclusion of principle stations. They can also be provided in bulk for distribution at depots, which is an ideal arrangement for continuous surveying. Irregular surveys can be personalised for each turn of duty, to show the services worked and all called upon stations.
At Stations
Whether for an annual census or for special surveys, including weekends, RIMS handles all the paperwork, ensuring that the best possible results are obtained in the shortest time. We take service performance seriously, since we know that late running distorts the numbers. The numbers come with a statement of late services, with those over five minutes late individually identified.
Not Just Trains
Our commissions have included car park occupancy counts, station footfall counts and provision for passenger counts on feeder bus services. So, if it needs counting, ask us to help!
The DfT, Network Rail and train operators recognise the need for train plans to be soundly based in order to achieve high quality service. They have commissioned many studies from DIS/Tracsis Passenger Counts to establish present day train section running and station dwell times. Many such stopwatch studies have been undertaken in the South East, the North West and across the Pennines. All to an exacting timescale and with great attention to detail.
The two companies’ breadth and depth of experience have led to commissions to assist both existing and potential franchise holders in developing their plans for the future.
